ARCHAEOASTRONOMICAL EVIDENCE OF A SECRET SACRED ASTRONOMY
From the back cover: Examining the astronomical alignments of the main Egyptian monuments, the author shows that almost none of them is oriented to the rise or set of Sirius or Orion at the time of construction. How is it possible? The reader will discover that in reality all are oriented in some way to the rising points of the stars of Orion or Sirius when they were in the extreme phases of their cycle. Since there is not only one of the most important Egyptian monuments that escapes this rule of orientation, it is evident that it was the true "secret" technique behind these choices.
Being a specialist in stellar astrology, in the last part of the book the author shows how these "stellar mechanisms" have worked well beyond the field of Archaeoastronomy. He illustrates the most important encadrement by declination - active for thousands of years and still active - involving some of the brightest stars in the firmament. We will see how and why Giza and Jerusalem been the places where it has most strongly manifested the greatest effects in the field of sacred and religions, albeit in different ways and for different reasons.
The truth is that the Sacred Astronomy practiced by the Egyptians is completely unknown to contemporary scholars. Moreover it was not a simple belief or superstition of that people. It is the Supreme Science that describes how the cosmos really works, and not only for the events of sacred history. The Egyptian priests and initiates probably derived this knowledge from a tradition dating back to the dawn of time.
Since these stellar configurations regulate not only the most important events of sacred and prophane history, but also the places the events that occur, their knowledge may open new scenarios for human knowledge, far superior and far more "radical" of the much acclaimed scientific discoveries that are not able to identify the primary and occult causes of events, nor to reveal the Mystery that surrounds our existence.
INTRODUCTION
We all know that the ancient Egyptians oriented their pyramids and their temples to the stars. We also know - and it is now also recognized by some academic scholars - that the Egyptians were well aware of the movement of the stars during centuries and millennia.
Why then for their colossal monuments destined to challenge the millennia would have to choose an orientation to the rising or setting point of a star that they well knew would change in a century or so?
In this book we will see that the Egyptians solved the problem by constantly and predominantly referring to the extreme declinations of a star in its precessional cycle of about 26,000 years, that is, the minimum and the maximum declination. A star’s "stopping point" means the point on the local horizon where it rises when it is at its minimum or maximum declination. In the first case it is the lower stopping point, in the second the upper stopping point.
In truth, the reasons why the Egyptians resorted to this "secret" technique of orientation were also and above all esoteric. In fact, the stars that are in these extreme phases of their cycle have extraordinary powers, also and above all from the initiatory point of view. These powers are easily verifiable even in the normal practice of world astrology, since the stars at minimum or maximum declination always represent the main causes of events and epochal changes in history.
They are also easy to spot because they are the stars that culminate at midnight of the Solstices.
Moreover, the two points of maximum and minimum remain linked to the star for its entire precessional cycle, even when they no longer correspond to the points of real rising and fall over the following centuries. In other words, the points on the horizon where the stars rise and set in these two phases of their cycle remain linked to the star for 26,000 years, even when it will have changed them over the following centuries. Also their height of culmination at the meridian in those two extreme phases is very important and has been used to establish the inclination of buildings or parts of them, as we will see.
In the following pages we will see many examples of this "secret" technique that has been used since ancient times, and that was probably inherited and used by some Freemasons until today. In fact, in the last pages of the book we will also illustrate some examples of recent times.
In this book we will make an exciting journey that will take us from Abydos to Saqqara, from Giza to Dashur, from Luxor to Abu Simbel, from Dendera to Edfu and all the other Egyptian monumental sites, and we will discover that there is not a single one of these pyramids and only one of these temples that is not somehow oriented to the rising or setting points of the stars of Orion or Sirius when they were in the extreme stages of their cycle. We will discover that undoubtedly was also observed the position that the stars had in the period of construction, but that their relevance was due to being seen as "activators" of the positions that Sirius or the Orion stars had when they were at minimum or maximum declination. This because they had a declination equal or opposite to the extreme ones of Sirius and Orion. And we are not only referring to Giza or the Great Pyramid, but to all the sacred monuments of ancient Egypt.
Since there is not only one of them that escapes this rule of orientation, we can say with certainty that it was the true "secret" technique behind these choices. And it was applied not only to the individual monument, but also to the reciprocal position between them, as well as between one site and the next, even if located many kilometers away.
The evidence and recurrence of these orientations is much greater than that studied so far by archaeoastronomers based on the position of the stars at the time of construction. So, if someone said that it is impossible and that it must be just a case, one can easily answer that a randomness that returns in all Egyptian monuments, and in the spatial relations between a monument and the other, and also between a site and another, everything can be less than a coincidence. If so, then we should all the more reason to say that the normal orientations to the positions of the stars at the time of the various constructions, that is those usually studied in archaeoastronomy, are completely random. In fact, they are much less regular, often even inexplicable, and most often do not concern either the constellation of Orion, nor Sirius.
For example, following the position of the stars at the time of the construction of the monuments, no temple or pyramid would be aligned to the stars of Orion, and none of the pyramids were oriented to Sirius. How is it possible that the most important stars for Egyptian theology have been completely ignored in the orientations of sacred buildings? Was he not the dead pharaoh like Osiris?
As we shall see, the situation is reversed if, instead of considering the position of the stars of the time, we go back to that in which Orion and Sirius were in the extreme stages of their precessional cycle, that is, at the maximum or minimum declination. Based on these positions, all Egyptian temples and pyramids point somehow to the rising and setting directions of these stars, or even to their height of culmination.
The fact is that the research should always be conducted without having prejudices about what the Egyptians or other ancient peoples could or could not know. If we carry out this research, isn’t it to discover what they really knew? For example, as we will see, it’s enough to put a couple of large stones in a row to store memory for millennia of a certain stellar direction. This is also demonstrated by the recent discovery of the megalithic site of Nabta Playa, which we will discuss in the last part of the book. And we will also see that, among the various changes in the direction of the course of the Nile, the various monumental sites of Egypt are located, coincidentally, precisely in correspondence with the points in which the sacred river begins to flow aligned perfectly to the North, to the Solstices or to the points at which these stellar phenomena occurred or had occurred...
As you will have understood, this Sacred Astronomy is not a simple fashion or superstition of the ancient peoples, and in particular of the Egyptians. It describes how the cosmos really works, and not only for the events of the history of cults and religions. The Egyptian priests and initiates probably derived this knowledge from an ancient tradition.
That is why perhaps the most important part of this book is the eight and last, in which these techniques are described in detail. Who wants to operate personally with these techniques should have a list of the last minimum and maximum declination reached by the stars. For this purpose I published in ebook version[1] a list of these minimum and maximum declinations.
In the eighth part, among other things, we explain the nature and effects of the most important encadrement by declination - active for thousands of years - involving some of the brightest stars in the firmament. What makes this stellar scheme of supreme importance is also the fact that all the stars in question were at 30, 60 and 90 degrees of declination, that is, the "sacred" angles of Pythagoreanism that represent the basis for building the main types of regular triangles.
We will see how and why Giza and Jerusalem have so far been the places where it most strongly manifested its effects, albeit in different ways and for different reasons. Not surprisingly, Giza and Jerusalem are almost at the same latitude. First the Egyptian religion, then the monotheisms of Jewish origin... And the two symbolic places of these two religions - Giza and Jerusalem - are located almost perfectly at the same north latitude of 30 degrees. The same Mount Sinai on which Moses received the Tables of the Law is at this latitude. As we shall see, the minimum declination reached by Sirius (the brightest star in the firmament) and the maximum of Arcturus (the brightest in the northern hemisphere) explain the particular relevance of the thirtieth parallel. And above all we will explain the fundamental importance - in particular for the birth of cults and religions - of the stars that reach a maximum or minimum declination equal to that of the Solstices and Lunistices, or that frames Solstices and Lunistices by their maximum and minimum declination. And we will see how precisely these configurations have marked and announced, since the dawn of time, the birth of a religion based on a Divine Son conceived by a Virgin.
Unfortunately, astrologers have focused exclusively on the planets and the smallness of individual lives. They know little or nothing about stars, and therefore they have not been and are not yet able to grasp these secrets. And the archaeoastronomers of scientific training reject a priori the idea that there is an effective relation between the stars and the events of this world, including sacred history. So I fear that few will have the skills and the desire to deepen and see what we are talking about, and this is a very serious damage to human knowledge. Scientists should be reminded that there is nothing more anti-scientific than rejecting a priori ideas that should instead be first studied and verified personally (which requires many years of study). And religious should be reminded that in the Bible itself it is clearly written that Heaven announces and describes the works of the Lord:
The heavens narrate the glory of God, and the work of his hands proclaims the firmament. Day after day he entrusts the message and night after night he transmits news of it (Psalm 18).
