Introduction
This book aims to bring the techniques of Stellar Astrology to the highest possible level of precision and refinement, including their applications within the fascinating field of Astrological Magic. These applications are of particular importance and practical usefulness; indeed, the extraordinary possibilities offered by Astrological Magic are among the main reasons why, over the years, I have devoted myself to these demanding researches in Stellar Astrology.
In the first part, we shall examine the origin and astronomical meaning of one of the best-known and most important symbols of the esoteric tradition: the six-pointed star, or Seal of Solomon. We shall see how and why, within the Jewish tradition, this symbol is linked in a particularly specific way to a peculiarity of the star Regulus in relation to the local horizon of Jerusalem. It is no coincidence that Regulus has always been regarded as “the Star of Kings.” Yet, as we shall see, at a broader level this does not mean that the symbol is tied exclusively to this particular star; rather, it represents an astronomical condition that may concern different stars according to time and place, especially when they are at their lower or upper station points.
In the second part, we shall see how the extreme declinations reached by the stars may be activated in later centuries not only directly, but also through framings involving what we define as “magic points.” We shall examine examples both in natal and in mundane astrology.
In the third part, we move on to several applications of Stellar Astrology techniques within the field of Astrological Magic. These concern both certain special uses of paranatellonta and the magical azimuthal distances which, when present between the celestial bodies involved in a ritual, greatly facilitate their terrestrial manifestation and therefore the realization of the desired effects. This is a decisive factor for the full efficacy of rituals. Proof of this can easily be obtained by examining our most successful past rituals: in such cases one invariably finds magical azimuthal distances between the principal celestial bodies involved, even though the operator was probably unaware of them and the circumstance thus appeared to be mere “chance.”
In the fourth part, we shall see how to use local-space factors to strengthen our elections and rituals. Here we venture into some of the most mysterious domains of ancient Geomancy, especially the occult powers exercised by natural landscape features such as mountain peaks and rivers, including their relation to the azimuthal lines that radiate from or converge upon them.
In this way, the reader will gain access to a powerful set of tools applicable both in ordinary astrological practice and within the elective and magical-astrological fields.
